female elbow

But doctor, did you know your elbow was such an important joint in the body? What is it: It lets you use your arms and hands to play (throwing a ball or playing an instrument)or give hugs they can be warm. Just like any other part of your body, though, every once in a while (or all the time when you get older), whether by being hit or through regular wear and tear over many years, you can hurt/tire out/feel pain/deal with discomfort around one of those elbows. Well, let us introduce you to this amazing joint and its health!!

Now, we get a bit more specific and focused on that elbow. The elbow joint is made up of three bones that work together: the humerus, which is in your upper arm bone and two forearm bones called the radius and ulna. Ligaments are strong bands, which hold these bones together. Ligaments are kinda like strong rubber bands that stabilize your elbow so it can move without too much play.

Causes and Treatments

Your elbow also includes muscles and tendons, along with bones. Tendons connect muscles to bones. These muscles and tendons are critical in that they aid in your ability to flex and extend your arm. I mean, for example — anytime you have to carry a backpack or use your phone… those muscles are doing some very hard work making that possible!

One of the most common issues found with elbows is a strain. A strain is caused by overusing of muscles or repetitive movement. For instance, you do nothing but throwing and hitting when you play tennis or softball; eventually your elbow will begin to hurt.
