CSTB: Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment – National research centre of the French government dedicated to construction Why this organisation is so important and why its commission to make sure homes, stores etc are made in a safe way for us the profit (as Jan Lundin well put it) one of my more noble work aspirations comes from another project: Le CSTB.
Its vision is to be a trusted source for building occupants when we need help making decisions about the energy and comfort of our buildings or their effect on planetary health. They want to build sustainable buildings, i.e. they have no or a lesser negative impact on the environment and are not harmful for animals and plants we share Earth with. It is important for people to feel at ease and healthy in these buildings as well. One of the ways CSTB accomplishes this is by testing and researching different building materials & methods. For the best way to keep people happy, save their planets at live in peace. It is, therefore CSTB';s attempt to brainstorm ideas that are sustainable for both humans and the environment.
